Today, we pause to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. At DeSoto Parish Schools, we are privileged to celebrate and honor the sacrifices and dedication of our veterans, and we have enjoyed wonderful Veterans Day programs across each of our schools. Through student performances, heartfelt tributes, and special assemblies, we’ve celebrated the bravery and commitment of those who have given so much to protect our freedoms.
Throughout this week, we will also be highlighting DeSoto Parish Schools staff members who have served our country. We are deeply grateful for their continued service in our classrooms and communities, where they inspire and lead the next generation with honor and integrity.

The DeSoto Parish School Board extends our heartfelt gratitude to District 6 Board Member Coday Johnston, who announced his resignation at our November 7th board meeting. Mr. Johnston has stepped down from his role to serve on the DeSoto Parish Police Jury in District 1-C.
Since his election in 2010 at the age of 25, Mr. Johnston has been a dedicated advocate for our schools, teachers, and students. His commitment and influence have played a vital role in advancing the excellence of DeSoto Parish Schools, and his legacy of service will be felt for years to come.
