Social Emotional Learning
DeSoto Parish Schools recognize that effective behavior systems are a critical component of every school system and schools. We are focused on providing support and resources needed to implement a multi-tiered system of supports for student behavior. This includes, but is not limited to Behavioral Intervention, Social Emotional Learning, and many more. Each school has been trained and are implementing SEL support as needed.

Bullying and Harassment
The DeSoto Parish Schools shall be committed to maintaining a safe, orderly, civil, and positive learning environment so that no student feels threatened while in school or participating in school-related activities.
What is Bullying
In 2014, the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Education released the first federal definition of bullying. The definition includes three core elements:
unwanted aggressive behavior
observed or perceived power imbalance
repetition or high likelihood of repetition of bullying behaviors
This definition helps determine whether an incident is bullying or another type of aggressive behavior or both.
