The DeSoto Parish School System received word early Monday, October 26, 2020, that of the 300 people who took advantage of the drive-thru testing opportunity offered on Friday, October 23rd, there were no confirmed positive COVID-19 results among staff or students. Mansfield Elementary and Middle School students will return to in-person learning tomorrow, October 27, 2020.
Superintendent Corley stated, “We appreciate the cooperation last week from our families, faculty, and staff as students transitioned to virtual-only learning as a precaution. As always, DeSoto Parish Schools will continue to take extra measures to sanitize all buildings and practice procedures recommended by local and state health officials. We ask that our families continue to practice healthy habits as we all work together to provide amazing opportunities for our children.”
1. Stay home if you don’t feel well or experience COVID-like symptoms
2. Wear a face mask
3. Practice social distancing
4. Practice hand hygiene

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students, staff, and families, and in consultation with the LA Department of Health, Mansfield Elementary and Middle School will shift to virtual-only instruction beginning tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, and return to face-to-face learning on Tuesday, October 27. We have recently noticed an increase in the number of students exhibiting flu-like symptoms and want to take every precaution possible to ensure the safety and health of our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Today we start the 2nd 9 Weeks of the 2020-2021 School Year! We know this year has presented many changes and new challenges for students, parents, and teachers a like. However, our Wolverines are rising to the occasion! Keep up the good work!

Fall Break is here! Schools will be closed Monday, October 5th to Friday, October 9th. Students will return for the 2nd 9 Weeks on Monday, October 12th.
Have a safe and restful Fall Break!

MMS will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

REMINDER: There will be no face-to-face instruction for students Thursday or Friday. Students will participate in remote learning only. Due to the likelihood of power outages in the area during the storm, no “new” learning will be introduced. Students should use this time to catch up on missing assignments and study for upcoming tests. Stay safe! #DeSotoStrong

Students in Middle School & High School will return to campus 4 days per week when the state moves to Phase III. Due to bus capacity and group size restrictions during Phase II, bringing middle & high school students back 4 days per week is not possible. #DeSotoStrong
