Today Wolverines honor Harriet Tubman!
Harriet was an American abolitionist and political activist. Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and subsequently made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, including family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad
Today Wolverines honor Mae Carol Jemison!
Mae Jemison is an American engineer, physician, and former NASA astronaut. She became the first black woman to travel into space when she served as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour.

Amanda Gorman is an American poet and activist from Los Angeles. Her work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora. Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate. She is also the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history.

Booker T. Washington (1856-1915) was born into slavery and rose to become a leading African American intellectual of the 19 century, founding Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute (Now Tuskegee University) in 1881 and the National Negro Business League two decades later.
Wolverines honor former US President, Barack Obama!
Barack Hussein Obama II is an American politician and attorney who was the 44th president of the United States, from 2009-2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Mr. Obama was the first African-American president of the United States.

Today Wolverines celebrate Mary McLeod Bethune!
Born to former slaves a decade after the Civil War, Mary McLeod Bethune devoted her life to ensure the right to education and freedom from discrimination for black Americans. She was an educator, an organizer, and a political activist, and opened one of the first schools for African American girls.

Tickets for the Jan. 27th home basketball game vs. Red River and SENIOR NIGHT will go on sale Monday, Jan. 25th. Tickets will be sold in the MMS Office from 9am to 2pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. All tickets are $5. Tickets are limited, so get yours early! (NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.)

Tickets will be on sale Monday-Thursday in the Middle School Office. Tickets are $5 for students and adults. Seating is limited. Only 80 tickets will be sold. Tickets are first come, first serve.
Wolverine Nation! LDE has partnered with LA Health Hero USA to provide on-site flu shots for students on Thursday, December 10, 2020. (Time will be announced.)
Students will receive a Flu Vaccine Consent Form to take home. Parents interested in their child receiving the flu vaccine must complete and return the form by Thursday, December 3, 2020. Vaccines will not be given without a consent form.
