MMS honors World Autism Awareness Day. Approximately 1 in 59 children is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). To help spread awareness and support advocacy for this often misunderstood condition, on April 2, we recognize World Autism Awareness Day.

Today is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is observed on 21 March each year in order to raise public awareness of Down syndrome. Down syndrome (or Trisomy 21) is a naturally occurring chromosomal arrangement that has always been a part of the human condition, being universally present across racial, gender or socioeconomic lines in approximately 1 in 800 live births, although there is considerable variation worldwide. Down syndrome usually causes varying degrees of intellectual and physical disability and associated medical issues.

MMS will host an Awards Ceremony recognizing the academic achievements of our students during the 2nd and 3rd 9 weeks. The ceremony will be Friday, March 25th at 8am in the gym. Invitations will be sent home with students.
