The State Bond Commission oversees all of the bond elections and issuance in the state. They met on February 15, 2024 and voted to allow the DeSoto Parish School Board to hold the April 27 election. This approval is largely due to the overall need in the district and the large change in scope and costs to the previous proposal. The Bond Commission does not always approve these follow-up elections, but felt that voters should be able to review the new proposal and cast a vote as soon as possible.

NDMS students that met their AR goals the third nine weeks have earned a free dress day tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9. A parent note and wristband are going home with students today. Students are required to wear their wristband to school tomorrow. Please review the allowed and not allowed clothing choices with students. Not Allowed: No leggings, No short athletic shorts, No house shoes or slides, No pjs

The April bond plan is $47.5 million less than the November 2023 plan. Many items that were in the 2023 bond plan have been eliminated in the new proposal to better align with the community’s desire to focus on academics.
