NDLE's annual book parade is always a fun time and one of our small town traditions ❤️💙 We wish all of our Griffin community a safe and Happy Halloween! 🎃

Our NDLE Book Parade is today, Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 at 9:00 am. The parade will start at our gym. Spectators can park in our parking lot and stand on the front sidewalk. Be sure that students wear comfy shoes for walking. Parents can check students out with their teacher after the parade.

NDLE: We are monitoring the weather forecast and sad to see the chance of storms in the morning but still hopeful. 🤞🏼The NDLE Book Parade WILL be held at 9:00 tomorrow regardless of the weather. 😃 If we have to make the call to move it inside we have a plan for that. We will update the final decision around 8 in the morning through Rooms and Facebook. ⏰

Here are the prizes for the 4-H Clover Bud's Pumpkin Decorating contest. Please remember to pick up your pumpkins from this and from Monster Math Night this week.

Hi Parents! Here is updated information for checking students out after book parade.
Everyone enters the school through the cafeteria doors after the parade. All teachers will have a clipboard with a checkout sheet to sign.
- PreK will go to their rooms once the parade is over and all of those parents will go to the outside door to sign out. Enrichment teachers will be available to direct parents to PreK teachers' doors.
- Kindergarten will go to the gym and line up behind the cones. Parents will line up and sign out with the teacher.
- 1st grade will sit at the cafeteria tables as they come in. Parents will sign out with the teacher.

Volunteers needed! NDLE is in need of parent volunteers to help out on Kona Ice days. These happen once a month. Volunteers would walk students who purchase Kona Ice to the truck, wait with them while they eat their treat, then return them to class. This will help teachers maximize their instructional minutes on these Fridays. To volunteer for this click here http://bit.ly/48u9Hi3 Mrs. Burford is also seeking volunteers to help with some upcoming Holiday activities. Please email her if you are interested in this opportunity lindsay.burford@desotopsb.com

Red Ribbon Week at NDLE kicks off on Monday, Oct. 28. Dress up days are Monday - wear a neon shirt, Tuesday - wear a hat, Wednesday - wear your favorite outfit, Thursday - wear Book Parade costume, Friday - Wear green in memory of Mason Chandler
