Traffic flow around North DeSoto schools has proven to be a challenge. Part of the District 2 bond will go toward improving traffic patterns that aim to alleviate congestion during the opening and closing of school, as well as during major events.

Resident teacher Ms. Garrett has CIW students working through a "Find Your Way" Friday lesson with a budget calculator. Each student made choices of their future careers, housing, vehicle, and all "life" expenses to determine if their spending choices met their career salaries! Students in Math Essentials partook in placemat problem solving! #NDHS4L





In AG II, students completed a lab involving the comparison of burn off of ethanol and kerosene to determine if a plant based fuel is healthier. They decided the plant based fuel is healthier. #NDHS4L





This week my students started their dual enrollment classes through BPCC and NSU; earning college credits to take with them next year. #NDHS4L

Students in Coach Prather’s Cyber Society class are working as agents of the Department of Homeland Security to investigate a crime involving cybersecurity. Students must work as a team to dig through a variety of documents to find relevant evidence for solving and presenting a case against their lead suspect. Team leaders are tasked with facilitating discussions and delegating tasks to help their teams’ investigation run smoothly.




English I students confer as they work on their collaborative essays arguing whether or not parents should limit teens’ exposure to social media. These students are being challenged as research may not back their popular opinion!

Attendance Matters in the Success of our Students!!


Did you know that our students and staff are seeing consistent growth and proficiency across the board in student achievement? The latest results show all DeSoto High Schools grew in English, Math and Science, while third-eighth grade assessment scores continue in upward growth and proficiency!


NDHS will host club meetings next week (Aug 28 - Sept 1). Meetings will be during WIN. Students can check the cohort classroom for the schedule. Cocurricular activities may not be tested or graded, but they educate—and benefit—students in ways that classroom activities cannot!
