Dear Parents,
If you are receiving this letter your child has been approved to receive instruction virtually. Virtual instruction is for a 9-week period and may not be changed unless approved by the principal and/or Director of Student Services. Please read this letter carefully as it contains important information.
Attendance: Teachers will design and deliver virtual learning through Google Classroom. They will assess student work and assign grades. Work is expected to be completed on a daily basis. If daily virtual assignments are incomplete, they will result in an absence. The details of the DPSB Attendance Procedures can be found at www.desotopsb.com under Back to School 2020-2021.
Internet Expectations: Students attending virtually are expected to have a home internet connection that operates at an appropriate level. The recommended upload and download speed is 10 Mbps or higher for each. To check the speed of your home internet please visit www.speedtest.net. If your internet connection is not determined to be at the appropriate speed, it will be up to you to find an internet connection that allows for assignments to be completed. Please see the Attendance section above for more information.
Device Pickup: Students who do not already have a DPSB-issued Chromebook, may pick up a Chromebook July 27th-July 30th. You may pick one up at any location at the scheduled time.

Supplies Pickup: Students will pick up their school supplies and supplemental materials at the school on August 3rd and/or 4th. You will receive communication regarding this process.
Google Classroom: Students and parents will need to join the Google Classroom for each of the child’s classes. You will receive communication from your child’s teacher regarding this process.
