Last night LHS honored their head coach, Kevin Magee, as he reached the milestone of 100 wins last Friday night after the Tigers defeated Lasalle 55-0. Not many coaches can say that they won a state championship as a player and coach at the same school, even fewer can say that they reached 100 wins at the same school, Coach Magee can! A Logansport Tiger through and through, Coach Magee took the reigns as the Logansport head coach before the 2014 football season. He inherited a team that went 2-8 the year before, and in one year started laying the foundation for a championship quality team by leading the 2014 Tigers to a 7-5 Record and an appearance in the regional round of the playoffs…the following year, the tigers took the next step by reaching the Quarterfinal round and finishing the season 8-5. In 2016, just 2 years after Coach Magee took over, he led the Tigers to a 16-0 Record and their 2nd State Championship since 95 when he was Quarterbacking the Tigers…Since 2016, the Tigers have reached the semi-finals 3 times, the quarterfinals 3 times, and once again in 2021, the Tigers found themselves on the Superdome turf as they made their 3rd appearance in the 1a State championship game. Coach, congratulations on reaching 100 wins…we are proud to have you as our coach and here's to 100 more!
