TAP is a researched-based school reform initiative intended to recruit, motivate, develop, and retain high quality teachers in order to increase student achievement. An original initiative of the Milken Family Foundation, TAP now operates under a separate foundation called the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET).
